What I Bring to the Table

What I Bring to the Table

After living in Newport, RI for 15 years, there was no other option, thanks to the aftermath of Covid-19, but to leave the area. The Air BnB take over and extreme high costs for living, drove me out,  having to close my business on Broadway. It is with great delight and joy that I was able to find a new home in Adamsville, RI with my sweet dog Paisley, and loyal cat Daisy.

Paisley has been a part of my massage practice since she was 8 weeks old, and she is such a joy to have with me sharing her love alongside my table.

Back 2011 to 2013, I experienced one of the best jobs in my life as a server/coffee slinger/chef and chocolatier’s assistant at la maison de coco; it was a very special European café on Bellevue Avenue.

In 2013, the café closed.

After the café closed, I was heartbroken.  I spent nearly 72 hours per week there, with one day off. On that one day, I was filling a seat in an office doing administrative work.

I was a server for nearly 12,000 hours of my life and connected with wonderful people, some I saw daily. Serving was what lifted me. So, what now?

One morning over coffee with my friends, who are utility linemen, I noticed one of my friends clearly had neck pain from working on a  daunting overnight job. I couldn’t stand looking at the pain in his face so I asked if I could help and the outcome was positive.

After this moment my friend encouraged me to pursue massage therapy, so, with his follow up, I did, and here I am!

When realizing the difference massage therapy has on hurting, hardworking bodies and the overall positive effect touch has, I needed to know more.

Early 2014, I signed up for CCRI’s Therapeutic Massage Program, while working two jobs.  CCRI was RI's only accredited college by the Commission on Massage Therapy Education (COMTA), learning over 600 hours + of total education, and I am a very happy and proud graduate, graduating with Honors in 2017.

COVID-19 brought a halt to the massage therapy program, and I am unsure what’s happening with the program now.

Massage therapy has been a springboard of opportunity for me. Added to this I decided I would pick up an education in herbal medicine. My entire life as I remember it, I have lived a serious holistic lifestyle and as an adult I have never wavered from it under any circumstance. Between herbal supplements, a very disciplinary eating habit, and faith in God; I now have massage therapy as roots for all else to branch off of to be able to help people.

I truly believe that living healthy and keeping strong is attributed to what we eat, watch, read, see, hear and who we are connected to as people.

My passion is about offering a healthy mind, body and spirit for a better quality of life and overall wellness.

By combining mixed modalities, the treatments I design for each individual are never the same for someone else!

I am truly fulfilled when a treatment has therapeutically restored my clients and have made a positive difference in their lives.

I believe this makes all the difference when working together as a receiver of massage and by being the giver of massage.

The program was a 655 hours, 34 credit curriculum.  It is a fact that massage is the oldest form of medicine that I believe in. First, we are all unique in our practices, no ONE is "better" than another because we are learning at a different pace than one another.  I choose to continue my education regularly for new ways to enhance my own body's longevity to keep me in practice for years to come. It would be a joyous occasion to meet you on my table and share all the benefit of massage therapy where your healing journey can begin.

It is truly my mission to guide people to peace, relaxation and decompression.

Thai massage, or Thai yoga massage, is said to have developed over 2,500 years ago. It is also referred to as “Nuad Boran” in Thailand, which translates to “ancient massage”. With deep roots in traditional Thai medicine, Buddhism, and yoga, Thai massage is truly a sacred healing art that stimulates the healing energies in the body through a magical blend of massage, therapeutic stretching, acupressure, and reflexology.Thai massage embraces a holistic viewpoint of treating the whole person, not just a particular body part or symptom. It maintains the following theories:

  • There are invisible energy channels or pathways in our body, called Sen lines. This is similar to the Chinese theory of meridians. Thai belief is that there are 72,000 sen lines intertwined throughout our body, however there are 10 main sen lines, know as “sen sib”.
  • Our vital life force or life energy travels through these channels. This energy is known as “Lom” in Thai, which means “wind”. Other names for this life energy include Prana, Chi, or Ki.
  • Due to physical injuries, bad posture, stress, emotional trauma, etc. this energy can get trapped or blocked, causing pain or disease.

The primary goal of Thai massage is to stimulate the flow of energy to release these blockages, resulting in balance and harmony within the physical body, the energy field, the mind, the emotions, and the spirit.
